A.T. Lischak was born and orphaned along with his twin brother, Nathan, in Ukraine in 1998. Both of them were adopted by the same American family and brought to the United States in 1999. For the following 18 years of his life, Lischak resided in a small Ohio town, attending public school, participating regularly in sports and band, and traveled the country.
While life was busy for Lischak, writing has been a long-time passion of his. He began writing and illustrating homemade picture books in elementary school, and his interest in stories consistently grew. He began delving into long-form storytelling in high school.
Between those points in time, he came to understand the gospel of Christ at the age of 13, which would later heavily inform all his stories. His first published work was drafted in 2016 while he was still in high school. Lischak witnessed spiritual and domestic disparities in his friends’ lives and wanted to confront the brokenness they experienced with the hope of the gospel. Eight years and over fifteen drafts later, Lischak finally debuted with “In the Land of the Living” in 2024, a biographical fiction novel chronicling the life of a man struggling to overcome his traumatic past and accept the Lord’s hand in His life.
That same year, he penned “Where the Water Rises”, an allegorical fantasy adventure following a boy’s perilous journey of faith in a world of darkness and shadow. This work of fiction, akin to Narnia, only took him two weeks to draft, which was published the following month.
Lischak spent the next five months creating an immersive, cinematic audiobook for the allegorical fantasy — narrated by him and accompanied by sound effects and movie-style scores. It is now on platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify and has been well received by listeners of all ages.
He is currently working on a dystopian sci-fi thriller, which he considers to be his most important work of fiction to date. He hopes the book would be used as a tool to change hearts and minds for Christ.
A.T. Lischak has many other stories in the lineup and is grateful for the opportunity to be able to write and publish his stories. He sees his writing as more than a literary vocation but a calling to minister to readers of various genres, bringing them evocative Christian stories that not only entertain but stir the soul.
