Kevin J. Conner (1927–2019)
Kevin Conner was a respected Bible teacher, author, and church leader whose influence spanned continents and generations. Born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1927, Kevin came to Christian faith at the age of 14. He served with the Salvation Army until 21, then entered full-time pastoral ministry.
In time, Kevin focused on teaching ministry, serving in churches and Bible colleges across Australia and New Zealand, and later in the United States at Bible Temple (now City Bible Church) in Portland, Oregon. His teaching gift flourished, and he became known worldwide for his clarity, depth, and theological insight. In 1987, he returned to Melbourne to lead Waverley Christian Fellowship (now CityLife Church), later passing leadership to his son, Mark Conner, in 1995. His daughter Sharon married Frank Damazio, and they continue ministry in Portland.
Kevin authored dozens of theological textbooks, many of which are still used today by pastors, students, and Bible colleges around the world. He was recognised internationally as a teaching-apostle and remained in high demand as a speaker, travelling widely throughout his life to equip the Church.
Kevin passed away peacefully in Melbourne on 18 February 2019, aged 92. His life was marked by faith, service, and a deep commitment to God’s Word. Though greatly missed, his legacy lives on through his writings and the many leaders he mentored.
