This insightful book explores Pope John Paul II’s vision of authentic participation—where true leadership and good governance flow from our shared calling to act together with others and with God.
Karol Wojtyla, later as Pope John Paul II, was the champion of the Solidarity Movement in Poland. He saw man as a communal being. From the social nature of man emerges the principle of participation. Inherent in every man is the right and the duty to act authentically together with others and God. This book draws inspiration from Wojtyla’s principle of participation. Perhaps because of his rich background in public administration, Fr. Rolyn highlights the dimension of participation among the writings of Pope John Paul II. Participation is the hallmark of good governance. He also emphasizes the principles of partnerships and leaderships that are fundamentals of good governance grounded on participation.
