Dan Hotchkiss has consulted with a wide spectrum of churches, synagogues, and other organizations spanning 33 denominational families. Through his coaching, teaching, and writing, Dan has touched the lives of an even wider range of leaders. His focus is to help organizations engage constituents in discerning what their mission calls for at a given time, and to empower leaders to act boldly and creatively.
Dan is a UU minister and author of Governance and Ministry: Rethinking Board Leadership. Dan has consulted with Christian, Jewish, and Islamic leaders in more than 33 faith traditions on planning, leadership, and board governance. Today, Dan coaches and consults selectively with congregations and other mission-driven groups, mostly by phone and videoconference, from his home in Middleboro, Mass.
Previously, Dan managed ministerial placement for the UUA and served UU churches in New Haven and Boca Raton. In 2001, he became a senior consultant for the Alban Institute and has consulted independently since 2014. Dan is active in UU Middleboro, where his wife Susan serves as music director, and sings with the Solstice Singers of Woods Hole.
