Hey y’all, I’m Sheka—just a small-town country girl with a big story to tell. I’m the author of Someone Else This Is My Story, a memoir that lays bare the struggles of my past—sexual abuse, trauma, addiction, and identity battles—but more importantly, it tells how God stepped in and changed everything. My journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it, and now I use my testimony to remind others that healing, freedom, and a brand-new life are possible.

Through my book, my column in SpeakUpSis magazine, and my speaking engagements, I share my truth with raw honesty and unshakable faith. I know what it’s like to feel lost, broken, and unworthy, but I also know what it’s like to be found, restored, and deeply loved by God. That’s the message I carry—one of redemption, resilience, and the power of grace.

Outside of writing and speaking, I wear a few other hats too. I’m an Instagram expert, helping others share their stories authentically. I love being around my grandkids teaching the good ol’ principles of life, just like my folks did with me—plain, simple, and straight from the heart and when I need a little peace, you’ll find me curled up with my sweet cat, Bella, probably with a cup of coffee in my hand.

I believe our stories have power, and I’m here to help others see the beauty in their own. No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve been through, you are not beyond God’s reach. Healing is real. Freedom is waiting. And if He did it for me, He can do it for you too.
