Just as medical science has revealed the human body to be far more complex than our ancestors understood, so too is the truth of the Bible more intricate than previously believed. This doesn’t imply that past generations’ beliefs about the Bible were entirely incorrect—they weren’t. We are inevitably shaped by our own worldview, and it’s challenging to fully grasp the worldview of a different era. We always interpret things through the lens of our own time, place, and societal context.
