Varsy Arsy, the second volume in Ross’s examination of Paul’s letters to the Corinthians, delves into the Corinthian church’s embrace of a false teaching rooted in Greek wisdom. This Gnostic spirituality, while bringing wealth and influence, was denounced by Paul as a façade. In contrast to the celebrated success of the Corinthians, Paul challenges them to return to genuine faithfulness, opposing the worldly wisdom of Greek culture with the true wisdom of Christ. What the Corinthians deemed wisdom, Paul boldly labels as foolishness.
